Blitz in Wrocław comes mostly as tournaments and side events. Polonia’s Bisomania plays rated blitz in summer, the women’s grandmaster festival and the Błaszczak memorial include blitz groups, and the Bakara culture centre has hosted a pairs blitz tournament and the FotoSzach championship. The Hotel im. Jana Pawła II has staged pairs events, the over-fifties meetings of AZS Wratislavia play at five minutes with a three-second increment, and the Politechnika rector’s Grand Prix mixes blitz with rapid.
Oborniki Śląskie holds the Polish amateur blitz championship, organised with KSz Wieża Pęgów and the town sports centre, and the national team championships for players with disabilities, run by START, include blitz.
